Day of arrival

The staff will meet you at the airport of Limoges, transportation is all arranged and you soon arrive to the Château. On the way to La Fragne you will pass through authentic French villages and quaint countryside. The approach to the property is stunning; the Château and the grounds will take your breath away. The staff are ready to take your luggage to your room while everybody settles in, we will serve a welcome cocktail on the terrace. This afternoon, there is ample time to explore the grounds and take a refreshing dip in the pool. Tonight’s evening meal is based on typical French cuisine! Wooden boards with a wide selection of breads, dough's, rillettes, Duck Confit de Canard as a main and French apple pie as dessert. Jacques Brell music adds the final touch to the atmosphere.

 

Day 2

The family is woken up by the delicious scents of fresh baked bread and croissants. We ring the enormous Château bell to notify all that breakfast is about to start. For people who fancy a round of golf, there are 9 courses to choose from; we most enjoy the 18 holes at Brive la Gaillarde. The chef prepares sandwiches for the golfers to take with them. The children can stay and explore the grounds and play with the animals while the rest of the group browse and sample the local products at the Objat town market. On return from the Market, lunch is served before an afternoon spent by the pool. The children would have had a busy day feeding the donkeys and the fish, and starting to build their own tree house! The golfers return to aperitifs by the pool, followed by the evening meal prepared with only the freshest products of the region. 

 

Day 3

Today we have planned an activity for the whole group. We take you to Saint Yriex La Perche, about 25 km away from the Château. Here they have a hilarious activity; an old train track on which they’ve built "bikes". These bikes take two drivers and in between the two bikes is a sofa made for two to three people. Ideal for people of all ages. The track takes you through the country side and as soon as you meet a road, somebody climbs down from the bike and closes the barrier before you cross the road. We usually take about five or six bikes. In the middle of the track we stop and have a picnic, carefully prepared by the Château chef.

After this sportive event, you will be ready for the pool at La Fragne! Drinks and snacks are served and meanwhile dinner is being prepared… An authentic Mediterranean dinner with pastas and anti-pastas will be served amongst nature in the gardens...

 

Day 4

Today the ladies will go and shop in Tulle while the younger at heart will be taken on a canoeing adventure. Bags are prepared with lunch and towels for the canoers, and for the ladies we make a booking in one of our favourite, adorable little restaurants. Tonight we have a delicious BBQ by the pool.

 

Day 5

A day filled with history. We take you to Oradour sur Glane. This used to be a very quiet, peaceful, remote country village until WWII brutally ended this. Now it is a historical monument with a museum. When you arrive back at the Château, we serve high tea. This evening’s meal is from the Ocean!

 

Day 6

Today you can have choices: Visit to the exciting horse racing at Pompadour, visit Collogne La Rouge; the red brick village, or shop for amazing porcelain in Limoges. Tonight we serve a spectacular surprise!

 

Day 7

For the last full day, we enjoy a nice, quiet relaxed day, allowing you to truly enjoy everything the Château has to offer; a nice sleep in followed by Brunch served on the grounds, soaking up the sun and cocktails by the pool in preparation for the exquisite five course dinner with all the Château’s grandeur .

 

Day 8

While you enjoy breakfast, our staff take care of all of your luggage in preparation for your airport transfer. You will be delivered to the airport with ample time and we have no doubt you will have you enjoyed your stay with us and that we live up to the saying "Our castle is your Home."
