           Hotel

The hotel has 5 rooms and in France the call a hotel like this a Chambre D’hotes. The castle family tried to decorate the rooms in a way that the guests will feel at home very easily. A traditional Castle side on one hand combined with a great feeling of personality on the other hand. All comfort is being thought about! The rooms a spacious, 2 have a bathtub and 3 a shower. All en suite bathrooms have a toilet and the washbasin is build into an old cabinet found in the castle. A feast for the eye! The names of the rooms have a meaning to it…

The L’Oiseau, which means: Bird’s nest
(second floor, superior room)

At the time the family bought the castle, they found a little bird’s nest in one of the windows. Because of renovation, they had to take the nest away. It looked like the nest hadn’t been used for a long time anyway. When the room was completely finished, the bird came back, and made a new nest! This time they didn’t take it away but called the room after this little 'busy bee'.

When you look around in the room, you will find an antic console on the wall with a huge decorating egg sitting on it. The chatelaine even made a beautiful oil painting of this tableau. The room has a queen size bed, a old pink castle sofa, stereo, TV, a mantel shelf with an electric fire place, view on the park, en suite bathroom with a corner bathtub, toilet, mosaic tiling and a extra ordinary washbasin! This one is really from the good old days….By lifting/turning the washbasin, you empty the sink!

The Chapeau, which means: The Hat room
(second floor, superior room)

This room didn’t exist before. It was a huge open place and by all looks of the furniture, we figured out that it must have been a little school for the children of the previous Chatelaine and Chatelain. Little desks, schoolbooks, old hand writing on the board and so on. Only 2 years ago, this room has been made and was named after a hobby of the present Chatelaine! She used to make hats and that’s where Chapeau comes from. Little wall decorations and hats honour the name of the room. The colours are quiet, of white and green and the bathroom is again a little juwel. Made in a former locker ( there is a window though!). The washbasin is build in an old cabinet, no turning activities this time…! The bed is queen size, TV, Stereo, reading table and a mantel shelf with electric fire place.

The Grand Mčre, which means: Grandma
(first floor, superior room)

The moment La Fragne could be lived in again, Grandma Rijntjes came to visit het family and son. She stayed in this room and loved it. In the daytime she sat in the park and painted the Castle. This painting is still hanging in the room! The room is gigantic and has a beautiful view because its in a tower as well, which means on three sides windows. The bathroom is also huge and has a bath tub. The mantel shelf is original but can not be used any more ( unfortunately ). A antic sofa and 3-door locker give the room its castle atmosphere. The bed is queen size and there is a TV and Stereo. Years after grandma visit us the last time, we were honoured by a visit of a great grand child of the previous owners. The man was very old and as a coincidence, he stayed in Grandma’s room. The next morning at breakfast he told us that HIS grandma also lived in that room….
Coincidence……..?

The Tourette, which means: The Tower room
(second floor, superior room)

As the name easily gives away, this room is situated in one of the towers. As to say that the family build the bathroom in the tower. To stress the round shape of this room, the shower, toilet and washbasin are build in the middle and you can walk around the tower, very funny situation. Two huge curtains give you access to the bathroom. The room is on the sunny side of the castle and it looks very happy because of this!

Of course, the room has: TV, Stereo, central heating, queen size bed, beautiful fabrics, (an old Singer sewing machine as a desk, an antic wooden travel locker and so on )

The Maitresse, which means: Secret Lover……
(first floor, comfort room)

The best we kept for last……Secret stories of the castle….
During the renovation, the family found a secret door in the room next to the Maitresse leading to the maitresse through a locker! The other room was the biggest in the whole castle and being used by the previous Chatelain.
Why did he had a sercret door, who was sleeping next door?? We honoustly don’t know how the story came alive, if it was during a night at the campfire, telling exiting stories, but the room was called Maitresse ever since.
The room has a queen size bed, a colourful chaise longue, a little writing desk and a original mantel shelf, a tv ands tereo The bathroom is partly situated in the secret locker and you can still see the door frame!

The hotel has a cosy lounge room where breakfast is being served in the morning ( or with nice wheather outside ) and further on this lounge is a perfect place to relax, read your news paper or at a cold day- which we do not have that much- warm yourself IN the fire place! The fire place is so big, that you can latterly sit on 2 couches in the fire place. It used to be a big open fire place, but the family decided to put in a closed one instead to have no difficulties with smoke when the wind is ' wrong'.  This lounge is situated, just as the Grand Mčre room in the tower and has park view on 3 sides. When the family bought the castle, this room was already decorated with antlers, so it is being said this room was the hunting room. When the men came back from their hunt, they warmed up in this room and where telling impressive stories while having a drink. Untill today we call it the Hunt room (Jacht kamer in dutch)

The last common room in the castle is the restaurant, which is run by one of the daughters of the family.
