Chateau de la Fragne
A HOLIDAY IN A REAL CASTLE!
Along side the A20, exactly between Limoges and Brive, you will find a sweet little village called Lubersac. Just outside this village, back in 1664, the first owners build a pretty castle and up until today, you can enjoy her beauty, nature, cosiness and culinary surprises.
In the end of the last century, family Rijntjes could call themselves the lucky new owners of this castle and after years of renovation, they opened the doors of Chateau de la Fragne.
When you enter the drive way, you will be enclosed by that 'coming-home' feeling.
As you come closer, the bigger the towers will get and half way you will 'meet ' a huge chef cut out of wood who will welcome you with his sign. When you drive around the
castle, you will be astonished by the breath taking view of the park. In France they call the garden a park, and they are right in this; The garden IS big! The park is designed and made by the lord and lady of the castle. When you walk around you
will be surprised by its beautiful rose beds, statues surrounded by lavender, an old pun, 400 year old trees, a jeu de boules place and in the back of the park, completely protected from the wind a 12 meter long swimming pool with comfortable
reclining chairs. Can you picture yourself having a nice cocktail and dipping the pool on a hot summer day?
When you enter the castle, the chatelaine will welcome you and help will be offered to bring your luggage to own of the unique hotel rooms. The staircase is central and the traditional paintwork is beautifully restored. The colours are friendly, a soft green base with old pink roses now and then. The hallways are furnished with antic castle couches with velour upholstery. The classic castle style is combined with a subtle modern touch.
The curtains are meters high and emphasizes the immense ceiling heights.
